The South African Police Badge
Following the post of a former SAP member, Mr. Lance Pieter de Klerk of the vintage SA Police badge above and with assistance of his research, we found the accompanying articles by Lt Col LJ Haasbroek in Servamus from January and February 1990. It’s a comprehensive description of the design, registration, and evolution of the South African Police Coat of Arms up to and including 1990. It explains many anomalies that have occurred over the years and answers questions about the “validity” and “bureaucracy” associated with of the coat of arms.
